Eight Mexican Soccer Players Thrown Off The National Team For Having An Orgy With Prostitutes

June 28th, 2011

Mexico is out eight players for the Copa America after they got caught with prostitutes this weekend.

There’s no official word from the Mexican federation on the reason for the dismissals, but both SI’s Grant Wahl and Fox Sports’ Ives Galarcep cited hookers when they tweeted the news this morning.

Here’s the AP story:

Eight players from Mexico's team for the Copa America have been suspended for six months for violating team training rules.

World Football Challenge returns in July.

The World Football Challenge is back after taking a summer off due to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The WFC is an exhibition international club football competition featuring football clubs from Europe and North America. The 2011 field is highlighted by English champion Manchester United and Spanish league champion and European champion Barcelona FC. The matches will occur between July 13 and August 6. None of these twelve teams participated in the 2009 tournament, and for the first time, the field also includes five teams from the MLS.

The Dynamo take a new approach in practice.

Every coach has their own way of motivating his team when their struggling. Some give the traditional “pump up” speeches, other make practice harder, hoping that extra work will turn into results. But Dynamo Head Coach Dominic Kinnear decided to try a new philosophy today, something he has never done with his players before.

“I think that’s actually the first time we have ever played baseball-kickball basically today”, said Brian Ching.

Houston Dynamo's falling attendance

Dynamo fans continue to talk about the fact that they are the best fans in Houston. Well there is a disturbing trend ATTENDANCE!

Week 14 The Dynamo only beat Chivas USA in attendance. Chivas put 11,253 into The Home Depot Stadium while The Houston Dynamo put just 13,039 Butts in Robertson Stadium. Who's leading the way you ask? The great Northwest that is who. Last week Vancouver 20,168 packed in to see the Whitecaps take on Philadelphia. The Portland Timbers were next up with 18,627 in JEN-WELD Field.

Bobby Boswell

“We don’t look at things by months or quarter,” defender Bobby Boswell said. “We look at things week to week, and we want to win every time out. I think if we can get a win and start off June right, that will be good.”
